As a fresher, a Food Technologist can earn INR Rs 2 to 3 lakh per annum (average) in India.

The salary structure for professionals within the Manufacturing function could be 20% (approximately) less than those in the R&D or QC/QA function. If you enjoy lot of frequent traveling, then go for the roles of Food Inspector.
Academic roles will pay as per the University pay scales. Then there will be more extra incentives as well for Sales & Marketing professionals. For nutritionist and dieticians, median annual wage is INR 210,000 for fresher; and Nutrition Managers can earn INR 750,000 per annum (average). As a nutritionist or diet counselor, you can also do freelancing.
If you end up in the Sales & Marketing (including Brand Management) role, the salary levels will be 20 25% higher than the R&D and QC/QA professionals.

The eligibility test will comprise of an objective written paper. The test will be based on
General Awareness 25 questions
Quantitative Ability 25 questions
Logical Reasoning 25 questions and
Language skills 25 question
Two hours paper with 1/4 negative marking. Level of difficult average like CET and NMAT.
5. GDPI stage
Every student who sits for the exam will be invited for GDPI. Which will comprise of short interview and case study discussion. Exam and GDPI has to be taken in the college itself so outstation students need to come for 2 3 days. Jbims has written test and GDPI back to back so won't give u enough time to prepare for case studies. Case studies is different from GD. Everyone is going to fight and argue like a GD as most of the students forget that its a case study discussion not generic group discussion. You should know and master all 4 types of cases. A. D. Generic case discuss steps to reduce pollution in a city.

Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) is a deemed university, located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, which offers a variety of Integrated and PhD programmes. Aspiring candidates can pursue Integrated M.Sc.PhD programmes and PhD programme in Science Education along with other PG courses.
