NMIT Bangalore M.Tech admission is entrance based. Candidates who have a BTech or BE qualification with minimum 50% aggregate (candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ ST and Category-1 must obtain at least 45% aggregate) in the qualifying examination can apply for admission in the M.Tech programme. Further, candidates must appear for Karnataka PGCET or GATE (for admission through the management quota).

The seat intake for the M.Tech programme at NMIT Bangalore ranges from 18 to 24 depending upon the specialisation selected by candidates during the time of admission. Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology has a seat intake capacity of 24 for the MTech Structural Engineering course and has 18 seats each for the other specialisations.
