Yes, and this is one of the most attractive features of studying M.Tech at IISc. All students admitted to the M.Tech programme at IISc receive a monthly stipend of Rs 12,400, which helps manage the approximate INR 25,000 to INR 30,000 total tuition fees for the entire programme.

GATE is not compulsory everywhere, but it is strongly recommended for the best colleges. Admission to top M.Tech colleges in Bangalore commonly requires qualifying exams such as GATE or Karnataka PGCET. Some colleges also arrange their own entrance examinations, and a few M.Tech colleges in Bangalore provide direct admission based on merit. For IISc and IIIT Bangalore, GATE is absolutely mandatory. For VTU-affiliated private colleges, Karnataka PGCET is the main route, and some private colleges do offer direct/management quota admission without any entrance exam.

NHCE Bangalore accepts GATE score for admission to M.Tech programme. However, it is not compulsory. Aspirants can also get into M.Tech course based on their Karnataka PGCET scores. Selected candidates have to confirm their seat by paying the course fees.
