If you go for M.Tech through entrance test and a valid GATE score, you will get stipend also. In m.tech you can improve your knowledge and research abilities in the field of engineering. However MBA is a management program and differences in the subject but many engineering graduate take MBA and achieved great success. Important thing is that the management school from where you do your MBA should be premium institutes.

Dear Sanjaya, for applying to Canada for an Ms Degree, you need to have good CGPA, least backlogs, strong CV/Resume & an IELTS/TOEFL of 7.0/100 out of 9.0/120. you should look forward to the course related to the field of your previous education. The Canadian universities need an application almost 1 yr prior to the intake you plan to go. Please refer to the website for Toronto, McGill, Ryerson or Waterloo's website to know about the details of the courses.

Dear Zeeshan, the actual conversion for the CGPA lies with the university & none would have the exact idea. Still you may self check it on the website for WES credential evaluation @ http://www.wes.org/students/igpacalc.asp.

M.tech is more specific to engineering and will make you an expert in a particular area. There are companies who look for core Mtech graduates for work in industries. The salaries might not be very alluring but the growth pattern is good and steady . MBA is inclined towards the management side. This involves the study of marketing, finance, HR etc which are used for business development. Salaries will be comparatively high if you are graduating from a premium B school . If not then the salaries are average. You have to chose your area of interest and go ahead.
