The final selection of the candidates in the PG courses depends on the GAT- PG entrance exam while for M.Teach, the candidate has to score in GATE.

One needs to appear for GATE to get admission to IIT M.Tech.

Regular M.Tech seats are available at IISc, IITs, and NITs for candidates whose employers have paid for the seats. These applicants are not required to take the GATE entrance exam in order to be considered for admission to M.Tech programmes.

  • Candidates must have either a B.Tech or a BE degree. The required qualifying marks differ from one institution to the next.
