You can do M.Tech in food technology only if your undergraduate course was of 4 years. If not after B.Sc. You have to go for M.Sc. Then do M.Tech or Ph.D. If you have graduated a 3 years undergraduate course you are not eligible for M.Tech. The eligible for M.Tech. Food technology is after BE/B.Tech in food technology.

Yes, IIT Dharwad offers MTech courses, and admission is based on GATE scores. MTech at IIT Dharwad is offered in three specialisations, namely Data Science & AI, Mechanical, Sustainable & Smart Mobility. The total tuition fee for the entire M.Tech course is INR 20,000.  The admissions shall be made through the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). All interested and eligible candidates are required to register on COAP. No, candidates need to pass GATE followed by COAP Counselling for admission to the M.Tech course. To be considered for admission to a postgraduate engineering or technical programme or a doctoral programme, candidates must appear and qualify for the test.

I think, it is better to attend the exam again, as you are not having eligibility to join in particular university. Try to score good result.

Note that the IIT graduates having CGPA of 8.0 or above will be eligible for direct admission at IIT Kharagpur without a GATE score 2023. The institute has scrapped the written tests/interviews of shortlisted candidates. The admissions will be conducted on the basis of the GATE 2023 score only.

Yes, you can pursue M.Tech without GATE exam. You can opt for sponsored seats available in IITs, IISCs, and NITs to appear for specific M.Tech entrance exams at private institutes or pursue an MS degree abroad which will require you to submit GRE as well as language proficiency scores as part of the admission process. Eligibility: Graduation with 65% in B.Tech/BE with Computer Science & Engineering/ Computer Engineering/ Information Technology/ Information Systems/ Electronics & Communication Engineering.
