Annamalai University offers M.E. Programme in Computer Science and Engineering through distance education mode. The university is accredited with A+ Grade by NAAC. The admission to the M.E. Programme is based on TANCET score. I couldn't find any information on how good the distance education M.E. Programme in Computer Science and Engineering at Annamalai University is. Yes, GATE scores are mandatory requirement for admission in full time M.Tech. Whereas M.Tech part time admissions are based on marks in qualifying degree.

The minimum qualification for admission to the M.Tech. (CSE) programme is 65% in four-year Bachelor's degree in engineering (I. e. B.E. , B.Tech. , or equivalent) in any one of the following (or equivalent) branches. Final-year students expecting to graduate by July 2023 may also apply.

After doing B.Sc. In Chemistry it is best to go for chemical engineering in B.Tech. As chemical engineering branch is most similar to B.Sc. Chemistry than that of other branches in engineering. You can take the GATE exam to gain admission to the postgraduate programme after your Bachelor's.
