I am not from ECE, but as per 2015 placement statistics of IIT Kharagpur, almost 90% M.Tech ECE students placed with an average salary of 12 LPA in Phase 1 itself and Phase 2 will start from Jan 10. After CS EC has the highest number of offers. Again placements depend on specialisation, almost all VLSI people where placed within first two days of placements with packages of nearly (18 LPA to 20 LPA). Nearly 90% ECE people placed within 10 days of the of Phase 1. Don't worry about package If you have M.Tech degree from IIT you will definitely get good package even outside IITs.

Now you have to write PGCET exam and get the rank. Based on the rank, you will get the seat in the college. Choose your specialisation as given by the college. All the best.

All seats are full in integrated M.Tech, but you can ask the management there if someone left the seats, then they will call you for admission.

There is an entrance exam called PGEE and also you have to be exceptional in academics as well as research work.
Its fee is 75000 per semester.

Nift is well-known everywhere. In Ranchi also maximum people don't know about Nift. According to me there may be following reason:
Lack of publicity. Low strength: In Nift, the overall strength is around 1000. It is less than any private school. Branches:In Nifft there is only two branches that is metallurgy and manufacturing. Maximum people have lack of interest towards these branches. It's name:It is not popular due to its name also. When we say Nift, maximum people thinks it is national institute of fashion technology. Still I strongly believe that one day Ranchi will be known for Nift because we have very talented student. Nift also
