Advantages :
You can visit various countries while at work.
Tax free payment if you spend more than 6 months outside india.
Good payment at senior level.
Interaction with multinational crew.
Disadvantages :
Working in a hot weather inside the engine room, which already has a Temp of 50C due to the marine propulsion engine and auxiliaries inside it.
You have to work inside the engine room and there are some days when you will not even get to see the sky.
Boiler is your only uniform for the engine room and you have to wear it, as long as you are working inside the engine room.

Hello Gaurav,
Aah life of a marine engineer! It's tough, adventurous and full of opportunities to see the world. It has its pros and cons. Money part is very good. But separation from family, at least in initial days or years is a fact of life.

Eligibility is given below:
Pass diploma in Mechanical/Marine/Naval Architecture /Electrical/Electrical and Electronics Engineering with minimum marks of 50% in final year and with minimum of 50% marks in English language at 10th, or12th std. or diploma exam.
Or
Passed diploma in Shipbuilding Engineering with minimum marks of 50% in final year (4 year course) and with minimum of 50% marks in English language at 10th or 12th std. or diploma exam.

Hello Ayshu, This query is often asked. Be rest assured that there is no bar for girl candidates. In fact it is understood that girls are being given two years relaxation in CET being conducted by IMU this year. So don't worry and start preparing for IMUCET!

Unless you clear your class 12 exams, you will not be permitted to appear for the MANET MET entrance exam. Results for class 12 exams will be declared in May 2018 and the application window for the MANET MET closes on May 26th 2018, and you may have a brief period where you can apply for these exams without having to drop a year.
MANET MET 2018 Eligibility Criteria requires its applicants to have cleared their class 12 exams, as the qualification for this exam requires a 60% aggregate in PCM and candidate should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in English either in Class 10th or class 12th. Regards.
