This engineering branch has been designed to train candidates to become Marine Engineers on Merchant Navy ships. At the end of the course, successful candidates are awarded the Class 4 Marine Engineer Certificate of Competency. This certificate is awarded by the Ministry of Shipping, India. Please note that this certificate is provided only after a candidate completes 6 months of sea service. Once this Certificate of Competency is obtained, candidates may don the role of a Marine Engineer on Merchant Navy ships in any part of the World.
