No, GATE does not covers the marine engineering discipline, Hence you cannot apply.

You have to give only the Common Entrance Test (CET) of Indian Maritime University (A Central University of government of India). The eligibility criteria for CET is 10+2/ equivalent (PCM - 60% and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in class 10th / class 12th Examination.). The following are the programs.
1. 4-Year B.Tech (Marine Engineering)
2. 4-Year B.Tech (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering)
3. 3-year B.Sc. (Nautical Science)
4. 3-Years B.Sc. Maritime Science
5. 1-Year Diploma in Nautical Science leading to B.Sc. (Applied Nautical Science)
The course fee is about Rs 225000/ per academic year. Further the registration of courses

Hi Sunil, Yes, for sure you are eligible for this exam. Criteria is Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state board of technical education of at least 3 year duration. Feel free for your further doubts.
