No, a Bachlor's degree in Mass Communication is not mandatory to get admission to an MMC admission, however, having a degree in a relevant discipline will only help you get a better of MMC subjects as you already have the foundational knowledge of them.
Having a relevant bachelor's degree also acts as a guide for a successful career choice as you will already know about your interests in a specific specialisation you wish to pursue as a career path.

Yes, you can get admission to the Master of Journalism programme through lateral entry. Though not every college offers lateral entry to Journalism students, some institutions like IGNOU, Apeejay Stya University, etc., do. However, you'll still need to fulfil the eligibility criteria to be eligible for the admission process.
