The necessity of Mathematics is depends upon the specialisation you opted in B. Des course. The Transport Design, Industrial Design and Product Design needs some Mathematical background. While the other courses like Fashion, Communication, Leather, Accessory, Graphic& Animation, Knitwear and Textile etc. Don't needs the Mathematics.

For post of loco pilot there is need for B.Tech if you are having ITI degree then also you can give railway entrance exams and if you clear you can become loco pilot in railways. All the best.
