Maths is not compulsory.
Course Eligibility:
A candidate must have obtained 60% marks (55% for reserved category) in aggregate with passed in English and Mathematics /Business Mathematics/ Statistics having full marks not being less than 100 in each paper in Class XII.
Note: Apart from above criteria, candidate must successfully clear Entrance Test, Group Discussion & Personal Interview.

It's not mandatory to study maths for food technology, you can be from any stream like BiPC and home sciences.

In this 70% seats, the admissions have three quotas: 20% to students who completed +1, +2 education in Trichy/Thanjavur districts, 50% to rest of Tamil Nadu state, 30% to rest of India.
