Try and manage to complete the targets on time it can be done by making a right strategy for preparation and following it religiously. 300 to 500 hours of preparation is required in total for CAT.

  • CAT is a 180 minutes exam consisting of hundred questions having maximum 300 marks.
  • t comprises 34 from quantitative ability, 34 from verbal ability and reading comprehension and 32 from Data Interpretation and logical reasoning.
  • The question paper will consist of both multiple choice question and numerical answer type question. The points to be remembered are build basics, practice, do mock test for analysis, learn from your mistakes in mocks

There are various scholarships that are available post seeking admission into IIM (A). One needs to score a minimum of 98+ percentile in CAT to get an invite for a PI (personal interview). Class 10th & 11th scores are not relevant here. You need at least 50% marks at your graduation level exams.

You can also take GMAT and then apply for IIM's.

You should target mock exams, a lot of them. Try to take at least 1-2 mocks every week and once you are comfortable with the syllabus you may increase that number to 5-6.

CAT exam pattern has gone with perceptible changes since 2014 not only in CAT structure but also in content. CAT 2018 exam is expected to be held in the month of November/December 2018. Next 6 months will be a crucial period to devise a well chalked out plan for your CAT preparation as per the CAT 2018 pattern. As per the revised CAT exam pattern 2018, CAT 2018 will consist of 3 sections with a total of 100 questions. Each section is timed with the individual time limit of 1 hour.
