Hello,
No, the questions are not from your graduation courses. CAT is a test with no predefined syllabus, however past trends suggest that CAT tests in general aptitude including Verbal Ability (English), Quantitative Ability (Mathematics), Logical Reasoning (LR) and Data Interpretation (DI) skills.

Hi Sunil,
Your SSC marks are very low. There are almost no chances of you getting an IIM call. Plus given your HSC, SSC scores, it would be very tough for you to cope up with studies in IIMs. I would recommend that you start looking at other colleges where you can get admission.

For an average student, it is impossible to get admission in an IIM or any top B-school. The reason being, the level of CAT and other entrance exams is quite high as well the competition is intense. The criteria and admission processes of these B-schools is such that only the best of the aspirants get selected. Even after getting admission into any top B-school, one has to tackle the challenging MBA study curriculum which again is not easy (if not difficult). I have no intention of scaring you, but this is the reality.

As the difficulty level of CAT varies every year, there is no fixed score which can assure you of getting a call for the IIM's interview rounds. However, going by the past trends, a score of around 95 percentile and above should be enough to get a call.
CAT is of a total 300 marks, with 100 questions to be attempted in three hours.
