A percentile is a measure used in statistics indicating the value below which a given percentage of observations in a group of observations fall. For example, the 99th percentile in CAT means that 99% of candidates who appeared in CAT are below the person who is at 99 percentile. You can also say that is among top 1% of candidates who appeared for CAT. Marks required to achieve 99 percentile varies every year as per variation of candidates performance.

No, only the percentage of graduation matters in CAT or MBA admission.

With that score, it is impossible to get admission into a good college as the cutoffs of all top colleges are 98+ percentile. So better you avoid taking admission into a below average college, thus not wasting both your time and money. I suggest you reappear for CET(or any other exam) and aim for a high score. Good luck!

Hello Namrata!
With that score, you will get only average or below average colleges as the cutoffs of the top ones are generally 98+ percentile. Vivekanand isn't a good college, better avoid it if possible.

To get admission into any good college for MBA, you need to score very high. And the top colleges accepting CMAT scores have their cutoffs generally around 99 percentile and above.

If you want to pursue MBA from a reputed college, you should prepare yourself for the entrance exams conducted for the same. Reputed B-schools look into your CAT and other similar exam's percentile and give you admission on the basis of it. Other colleges make it mandatory for you to score at least 50% of your graduation degree to grant you admission in MBA.

Hello Maria!
The cut-offs of all top colleges through CAT exam is generally 95+ percentile. So, you cannot get a good college with a low score of 75-80 percentile. And the colleges you might get at that score won't be good choices for pursuing MBA.
