You can start preparation for CAT during your graduation, after 1st or 2nd semester you can start. Join a good coaching institute and keep practicing the questions on QA and VA.Good Luck.

If you prepare for one exam then you can also appear for the exam. Almost all are similar except evaluation system. Prepare and appear for both the exams.

Graduation marks do not play a direct role in giving ranks but it will be considered for the eligibility purpose like 50-60%, etc.
