MBA Entrance Exam

MAT exam is conducted in strict vigilance and a lot of care is taken to prevent impersonation, cheating, etc. Candidates are expected to follow guidelines set by the examination authorities for smooth and orderly conduct of the exam. Given below are certain dos and don'ts that candidates need to follow at the time of giving MAT. MAT exam dos
1. Reach the test centre as per the reporting time mentioned on the MAT admit card
2. Incase of IBT mode, log on to the test system as per the time mentioned on the admit card
3. Present all the relevant documents asked for identification
4. Cooperate in frisking and identification process
5. Divide your time in such way that you are able to solve a good enough number of questions in each session
6. MAT has negative marking so choose the questions carefully. Leave those whose answers you don't know. MAT exam don'ts
1. Don't be late to the test centre. The entry gates will be closed 15 minutes before the commencement of the exam and no entry will be allowed thereafter
2. In case of IBT mode, do not log in late
3. Do not carry prohibited items like notes, books, phone, calculator, watch, ipad, etc.
4. Do not wear metal items and accessories to the exam centre
5. Do not wear outfits with caps/headgears/hoodies, pockets etc.
6. Do not cheat or look into other candidate's system
7. Do not ask of exit before the announcement by exam invigilator.

On the MAT exam day, PBT and CBT candidates have to visit the examination centre well prepared. Apart from carrying two hard copies of the MAT admit card, they need to also carry a photo ID proof issued by the Government of India. The documents that are included in the list of approve IDs are:
1. Aadhaar Card
2. PAN Card
3. Voter ID Card
4. Passport
5. Driving License
6. University ID
Candidates have to carry the original copy of any of these IDs to the exam centre for identification process. IBT mode candidates are also required to present any of these IDs for identification to remote proctored mode. Candidates belonging to PwD category have to carry PwD and scribe certificates too on the exam day. Any candidate suffering from any medical condition which requires them to eat or have medicine during the exam, has to carry a Certificate regarding the same issued by a competent authority. Apart from the documents, candidate are required to carry blue/black ball point pen for signing the attendance sheet and filling the OMR sheet (PBT mode). No other stationary item will be allowed inside the MAT exam centre.

The important topics included in the MAT syllabus for Intelligence and Critical Reasoning include Family Tree, Strong Arguments and Weak Arguments, Multi-Dimensional Arrangements, Course of Action, Puzzles, Visual Reasoning, Arrangement, Series, Numeric Grid, Pie Chart, Blood Relations, Critical Reasoning, Calendars, Coding & Decoding, Syllogisms, Statement Conclusions, Column Graphs, Graphs Representing Area. Candidates must note that covering MAT syllabus for Intelligence and Critical Reasoning is tough because it is not Mathematics. There is no concept to be understood, there is no formula to be memorized. It is also not like General Knowledge, where facts are to be memorized. This section of MAT requires developing intelligence and reasoning skills. Most of the questions in this section are based on puzzles and patterns so one needs to develop the skill of identifying key details. Practice of several types of questions from all the topics is one of the best ways to cover the syllabus of this section of MAT.

Some of the main topics included in the MAT syllabus for Mathematical Skills are LCM and HCF, Percentages, Commercial Maths Complex Numbers, Percentages, Profit and Loss, Permutation and Combinations, Binomial Theorem, Sequence and Series Surds and Indices, Interest (Simple and Compound), Heights and Distance, Inequalities, Speed, Time and Distance, Triangles Set Theory, Number System Circles, Mixtures and Alligations, Elementary Mathematics, Geometry, Venn Diagrams, Trigonometry Equations and Linear Programming. Candidates need to study all these topic thoroughly this section of MAT carries 40 questions and in every session there can be more questions from any topic. So, start preparing for Mathematical Skills section of the MAT exam at least six months before you intend to appear for it. To cover the entire syllabus of this section thoroughly, you will need at least six months.

For Data Analysis and Sufficiency of MAT test takers should constantly revise the topics and practice sample questions as this section can be cracked only by enough practice of all types of questions. It is also important to strengthen basic calculations of Maths. Candidates must memorise Tables up 20, Cubes, Cube roots, square, square roots, percentage, pie value, etc. For quick multiplication and division, Practicing adequate number of MAT mock tests and sample papers will prepare you for the main exam, so you should practice 30-35 mock tests. To improve percentile score, focus on maximizing accuracy of every question that you solve in mock tests and sample papers. Candidates must attempt questions of all types and all difficulty levels to master this section of MAT exam. They should also practice every MAT sample question 2-3 times, to gain speed and accuracy.

CA IPCC is way more tough than CA. Exam becuase on comparing Statistics 2lac students appear for CA. Examination in which 1lac students only appear to just gain experience and to learn exam pattern and the real competition is with 1 lac students in which around 20k students get colleges with quite good placements and their career is about to be set in 2 years. Whereas in CA (whether Inter or final) around 1 lac students give exams and only 10k students qualify. And also comparing syllabuswise, CA. Exam is just a MCQ based exam where you just need to practice questions you do not need so much deep knowledge about the topics and chapters, its a skill based exam whereas in CA you have 8 papers and more than 8 subjects in both INTER AND FINAL level you need a very deep knowledge about the whole syllabus and also you need to mug up those books like EIS some LAW. So CA. Is like much more easier than any level of CA.
