Yes, you can but B.Com should be your priority and apply for CAT as well. Basically, there are 3 sections in CAT exam - verbal ability, DILR Quants. Verbal ability- Start reading newspaper daily to increase your reading speed and grasping power.

If you are taking drop remember this your precious 1 Year would be wasted. You have to keep in mind the approach towards CAT should to aiming top 20 B-schools. For that you have to work extremely hard. Your one year drop should be effective utilization of the time to crack. If you think you can do it take a drop. If you can't then continue with regular work.

If you are not appearing for the CAT exam, there are still a few options available for pursuing an MBA or PGDM programme from an IIM:
Other Entrance Exams: Some Iims accept scores from other management entrance exams such as XAT MAT GMAT or CMAT. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification in any stream from the 10+2+3 scheme in order to be qualified for the ATMA 2023 exam. Candidates in their final year may also register as long as they receive at least a 50% on their qualifying exam [1]. There is no upper age restriction, but applicants must be Indian citizens, and they must be at least 21 years old. For candidates in the general category and candidates in the reserved category, the lowest required marks for graduation are 50% and 45%, respectively. Three to four times a year the ATMA test is given.

Both the MAT and CMAT are entrance exams for management programmes, but they vary in a few ways. Both tests, in their opinion, are simpler to ace than the Iims' Common Aptitude Test (CAT). No, your 12th grade marks are not important for giving the CAT exam. You should at least have a 50% scored.

Yes, the eligibility criteria for appearing in XAT exam is to hold a Bachelor's degree or in the final year of it. The 12th percentage is not a bar for admission.
