Yes, it is normal. Many people in the past have taken a drop of 6 to 10 months for CAT Preparation and have made it successfully to top IIMs. So, you are not the first one to do so. Just stay focused during the gap period, prepare well and score high. If there is a gap of one or two year between your graduation and CAT but I will suggest you that please utilize this gap, try to do something else as well with the preparations of CAT exams. It should not be a problem as long as you can justify the gap.

Yes, joining a coaching for preparation does not guarantee success in the CAT exam. You can certainly prepare yourself, given that you plan things well: a) Give yourself sufficient time to prepare between when you decide to attempt CAT and actually take your first attempt. How to crack the CAT exam? The exam offers tough competition to get into Iims or other top B-schools. A large number of CAT toppers crack CAT with self-preparation, and more than 60-70 percent CAT aspirants preferred self-preparation in the past also by making a well devised Self Study plan for CAT Exam Preparation at home on their own.

Each correct answer is awarded +1 mark and there is zero marking for un-attempted question. The scaled score for each section, in the range of 12 to 120 with a total scaled score for all the three-section coming between 36 and 360, awards equal sectional weightage. No marks will be deducted or given for Un attempted questions or wrong answers. Along with the exam pattern, the candidate must also be updated with the NMAT exam syllabus so that they can prepare better for the exam.

NTSE exam pattern for Stage 1 & Stage 2 is divided into two parts as SAT & MAT. There will be 100 questions each in both MAT and SAT (Science-40, Maths-20, Social Science-40). This section will have questions on analytical and logical reasoning. How is the MAT section of NTSE exam? Overall, the MAT section of NTSE is a pure test of mental ability. Preparing for MAT during the last month will give you upsetting results and you are strictly avoided against it. It is a scoring section, and you must conquer it with confidence.
