MTSU international students having F1 status can work for 20 hours per week while the university is in session. This includes work undertaken in connection with a scholarship, assistantship or fellowship. Students may be employed full-time during summer and other vacation periods if they are eligible and intend to register for the subsequent academic term. Note that enrollment in summer sessions does not allow full-time on-campus work. Students will full graduate assistantships can contact The Graduate School and their departments regarding the department policies.

To determine whether a course requires GRE score, the applicants must check the course-wise requirements of MTSU University. For a few graduate courses, GMAT or MAT scores are also required. Apart from this, the applicants must also meet the general admission requirements for graduate courses such as having an undergraduate degree with a minimum specified GPA and application materials such as financial documents, a copy of passport, academic transcripts, etc.

MTSU University admission requirements are different for UG and PG courses. However, one factor that remains common among the requirements for international students at this university is the submission of an English language proficiency score. Accepted English language proficiency test scores are IELTS / Duolingo / TOEFL. General course-wise admission requirements are given below:

  • UG: The applicants should have obtained a high school qualification
  • PG: An undergraduate degree is required for admission to MTSU graduate courses

MTSU might take up to one month (30 days) to process an application. After submitting the application and before arriving on-campus, the applicants are required to do the following:

  • Confirm my Intent to enroll at MTSU
  • All international students must attend the Orientation
  • Activate the student accounts
  • Also, apply for on campus housing

The application fee at MTSU is different for UG and PG applicants. For UG applicants, the application fee is USD 30 (Around INR 2,500) and for PG applicants, the application fee is USD 50 (Around INR 5,000). Along with the application fee, the applicants have to also submit the following documents such as:

  • Online application
  • Proof of English language proficiency
  • Official academic transcripts
  • Copy of the passport photo showing an expiration date
  • Proof of current financial affidavit of support totaling USD 36,500
