Comparing the fees of DM courses in SCTIMST, Trivandrum with the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, the SCTIMST, Trivandrum fee for DM course is INR 2.8 Lakhs while the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences' fee is INR 1.6 Lakhs.
Similarly, MD costs INR 1.8 Lakhs at SCTIMST, Trivandrum, and INR 1.5 Lakhs at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences.

| M.Sc. | The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council. Candidate shall be medically fit. |
| B.Sc. | Any equivalent examination recognized by NIMHANS, Bengaluru for the above purpose with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics as principal subjects of study with 45% aggregate.
