Yes, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Guwahati was established in 2008 as a government institute the college has since been:

  • Approved by national bodies such as the AICTE and the PCI.
  • The college has also been recognised as an Institute of National Importance.

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Pharmacy ranking by NIRF is 12 out of 100 colleges in India in 2025 and it was again 12 out of 100 colleges in India in 2024.

Its ranking is widely known as 1st in Assam under Pharmacy.
