It is tough to compare which institute is easier to get admission into for BTech courses among IIIT Pune and NIT Silchar because the BTech admission process for all IIITs and NITs is almost the same, in which candidates are required to complete their Class 12 in PCM stream with a minimum aggregate of 7%. Additionally, candidates must achieve valid scores in JEE Mains, followed by JoSAA counselling.
Additionally, the number of BTech seats offered at IIIT Pune is 345, whereas at NIT Silchar it is 903. Hence, there could be a possibility that the institute with a lesser number of seats has tough competition in contrast to the institu

Yes, if you fall under the OBC NCL category, you can be admitted to NIT Silchar. OBC NCL (Non Creamy Layer) applicants must score in the 90th percentile or higher on the JEE Mains exam in order to be admitted to NIT Silchar.
Your OBC-NCL certificate, which must have been issued on or after April 1, 2024, must be presented alongside the other necessary documentation. For the most recent changes, regularly check the JoSAA website for published cutoff lists and other information.

Candidates seeking admission to E-MBA at NIT Silchar must be employed and have a work experience of at least two years of at executive/managerial/administrative/supervisory position in any organiaation. The two year shall be counted from obtaining the Bachelor's Degree to the date of applying for the EMBA programme. Candidates should submit a 'No Objection Certificate (NOC)' from the present employer while applying.

The institute does not release the cout-wise placement statistics. As per the student reviews available on Shiksha.com, NIT Silchar MBA placements were given an average rating of 3.6 stars (out of 5). One of the reviewers commented "the highest package is INR 12 LPA, with an average package of INR 6 LPA and the lowest package of INR 4 LPA. Top companies are Amul, ITC, Berger Paints, IDBI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Raychem, Star Cement, etc." (Review submitted in 2024).

The last date to apply for MBA admission at NIT Silchar typicall falls in March. In 2024, the last date to apply for admission was March 31, 2024. The online application started in December 2023. The last date to submit the registration fee for selected candidates was May 5, 2024. Applicants must also keep in mind the deadlines for CAT/MAT/CMAT application.

NIT Silchar admission dates vary from year to year. For MBA admission for the academic year 2024-25, the institute released application form on Dec 1, 2023. Other important admission dates as per the MBA information brochure 2024-25 are as follows:
