BTech (Computer Science & Engineering) branch is considered to be one of the most popular BTech branches. In the placements, BTech CSE students have been receiving the highest package across branches in the past years. Additionally, JoSAA 2024 closing BTech cutoff for general category students was 2940 for Computer Science and Engineering.

Candidates who have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 75% aggregate in PCM are eligible to take admission to BTech courses. Further, it is also necessary that the applicant qualify for JEE Main and JoSAA counselling. Candidates shall have academic certificates as well for verification purposes to prove their eligibility.

Yes, the institute offers five-year BTech-MTech (Dual Degree) courses in four specialisations. The specialisations include Chemical Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Mining Engineering. Admission to all the integrated courses is based on merit in the JEE Main exam.

Candidates must first check the minimum eligibility and selection criteria for the course they want to pursue. If a student meets the minimum eligibility, then he/she can go ahead by completing the application process. NIT Rourkela further grants admissions based on merit in the last qualifying or entrance examinations and performance in the respective counselling round. NIT Rourkela has an experienced faculty who are PhD, degree, and Diploma holders. National Institute of Technology, Rourkela employs Professors, Assistant Professors Grade-II, Associate Professors, and various other faculty members. NIT Rourkela also invites faculty for guest lectures. The university also arranges conferences, seminars, and student and faculty excahnge programmes.

NIT Rourkela has a big campus. The National Institute of Technology, Rourkela has a library, classrooms, hostels, and cafeterias. Some of the other campus facilities include central library, guest houses, sports facilities, and others. The university has conference halls, sports ground, canteen, and provides transportation facilities to students.

Yes, NIT Rourkela offers equal opportunity to students to apply for the scholarships. Some of the scholarships provided by the university are PMS (Post-Matric Scholarships) (for SC-ST students) given by Orissa Government, Indian Oil Scholarships, and others. NIT is a government university hence the fee is not very high. Even if the students does not find the fee a little high, they can apply for the scholarships provided by the university.
