In general, NIT Agartala has an advantage over NIT Meghalaya because of its longer history and better established faculty. Compared to NIT Meghalaya, a more recent institution formed in 2010, NIT Agartala, which was founded in 1965, has a better developed infrastructure, a bigger range of programs, and a more established placement network. NIT Agartala and NIT Raipur both accept NIMCET entrance scores for admission to the MCA course. However, NIT Raipur is more competitive than Agartala in terms of the NIMCET cutoff. The Round 2 cutoff for NIT Raipur stood at 732 in 2024 for the General AI category students. While for NIT Agartala, the round 2 cutoff was 781 in 2024. So, it is evident that NIT Raipur is very popular among the students for its MCA course.

The Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) branch is considered the best and most popular branch at NIT Agartala. Some key points about CSE at NIT Agartala:

  • CSE has the best placement scenario with almost all students getting placed.
  • Infosys recruited the most students from NIT Agartala in 2019 with 69 job offers.
  • CSE had a 100% placement record in 2019.
  • The CSE programme is quite popular amongst students.

Other branches with good placements include Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Electrical Engineering. ECE is considered the second best branch after CSE.

The NIT Agartala GATE Cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 1. The Cutoff was released for various M.Tech courses for different categories. For the General AI category candidates, the Cutoff scores ranged between 350 and 528. The most competitive course was M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence, with the closing cutoff of 528. Therefore, candidate with a Cutoff of 500 cannot get M.Tech in AI at NIT Agartala. 

For the OBC AI category candidates, the Cutoff for M.Tech in AI closed at 443. Therefore candidates falling under the OBC AI category can consider taking M.Tech in AI with the given score.

Yes mathematics is compulsory at NIT Agartala. If you want to go to NITs you need to qualify JEE Mains and maths is a compulsory subject for this.

CCMN stands for Centralized Common Counselling for MSc and MSc (Tech) admissions at NITs and CFTIs. NIT Agartala CCMN cutoff 2025 has been announced across multiple specialisations, wherein the closing ranks varied between 1090 and 1640 for the students belonging to the General AI quota.
