NIT Meghalaya - National Institute of Technology Cut-off

In Round 5, the NIT Meghalaya CCMN cutoff 2026 was only released for the M.Sc. in Physics branch, with the Round 5 score of 2937. Admission to the M.Sc. in Mathematics and M.Sc. in Chemistry courses was closed in the fourth round, with scores of 2431 and 2389, respectively.

NIT Meghalaya is a public technical university established in Shillong, Meghalaya, India in 2010. The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya accepts GATE scores for admission to its M. Tech courses. The GATE cutoff for NIT Meghalaya varies depending on the year and the specialization. The closing scores in the last round of the GATE cutoff 2024 ranged from 398 to 352 in the General AI category. The last round closing rank for M. Tech ranged from 356 to 424. The minimum GATE cutoff 2023 for M. Tech in CSE was 356. A score range of 600 to 700 is considered to be a good score.

The NIT Meghalaya GATE Cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 1. The Cutoff scores ranged between 352 and 492. The most competitive course was CSE among all. The Cutoff score for CSE was 492, for the General AI category candidates. Therefore, candidate with the Cutoff score of 450 cannot get M.Tech in CSE at NIT Meghalaya. 

For the OBC AI category candidates, the most competitive course was CSE with the Cutoff of 423. Therefore candidate falling under OBC AI category getting a score of 450 can get M.Tech in CSE at NIT Meghalaya. 

Yes, you can get into NIT Meghalaya with a score of 500. As per the NIT Meghalaya GATE cutoff 2026, the score needed in the fifth round was 437 for the General AI category for the MTech CSE course.  Thus, a score of 437 and above (your score is 500) can make you eligible for the same course. Please know that admission depends on applicant volume, seat availability, and exam difficulty.

NIT Meghalaya MSc admission is based on CCMN scores, followed by CCMN Counselling process. During the NIT Meghalaya MSc cutoff 2023, the Round 1 and the Last Round closing rank ranged between 1475 and 2462. Basis the Last Round, the minimum NIT Meghalaya CCMN cutoff 2023 stood at 2150 for M.Sc. in Chemistry.

The lowest GATE score accepted for admission to NIT Meghalaya would depend on the category, branch, and round. For the General AI category, the minimum score needed for Round 5 admission was 357 for the M.Tech. in VLSI and Embedded Systems. Students targeting the MTech CSE branch would need a score of at least 437 to be qualified for admission. 

For the OBC AI category, the minimum score needed for MTech CSE is 385. Other branches, rounds, etc, will have different cutoffs accordingly.

Competition for General AI candidates in BTech CSE has decreased for three consecutive years. The round five closing rank relaxed to 28662 in 2026. NIT Meghalaya JEE Main Round 6 cutoff for Computer Science Engineering is 19175 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission in NIT Meghalaya.
