NIT Rourkela admission process to the courses offered at the institute is conducted on the basis of entrance exams. The modes of National Institute of Technology Rourkela course admissions are online and offline. Candidates must secure a valid score in accepted entrance exams such as OJEE, GATE, JEE Main or equivalent for the final NIT Rourkela admission process.

For the OBC AI category, the lowest rank was 1986 in the last round. This was for the BArch course. On the other hand, for the OBC HS quota, the lowest rank to get into NIT Rourkela was 1585. Please note that other categories and quotas will have different cutoffs accordingly.

For the General AI category, the NIT Rourkela JEE Main cutoff 2025 varied from 369 to 85536. The institute accepts the JEE Main entrance examination results, followed by the JoSAA counselling process. Students can refer to the table below to know the round 1 and last round cutoff for the General AI category.
Please remember that other categories and quotas will have different cutoffs accordingly.

You can get CSE in GFTI as per the JoSSA counselling cutoff last year. You cannot get any branch, like CSE, ECE in NIT at this rank.
