For admission to a NIT Srinagar course, aspirants must meet the course-specific eligibility and selection criteria. Admission to all the offered courses is entrance-based. Hence, for admission in the NIT Srinagar BTech CSE course, aspirants need to have a valid score of JEE Main. Candidates who further meet the cutoff become eligible for participation in JoSAA counselling for seat allotment. In case seats are left vacant after the JoSAA counselling, then those are filled through CSAB counselling.

Aspirants should have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognised board to apply for BTech. The qualifying exam should have been passed with a minimum of 75% aggregate. NIT Srinagar BTech admission process is done based on candidates' JEE Main rank. The admission is completely entrance-based and there is no other provision for selection. Eligible students can visit the NTA official website to apply. After the entrance exam, a cutoff list is released.
