Indian students willing to take admission to the University of Ottawa must meet the admission requirements. The University of Ottawa admission requirements vary as per the course levels.

Undergraduate Courses

• Have obtained, or be in the process of obtaining the Higher Secondary School Certificate or All India Senior School certificate
• Have attained a minimum average of 75% (exceptions could be there as per programs)
• Have completed, or be in the process of completing the pre-requisites for the preferred program. Also, unless otherwise stated, all pre-requisites should be completed in the senior year
• Apart from the above-given admission requirements, students are required to meet the English language requirements

Graduate Courses

• Master’s: The minimum qualification required to pursue a master’s programme at the University of Ottawa is Bachelor (3 years) and Master / Bachelor (3 years) from institutions with NAAC rating of A (Some programs) / Bachelor (4 years) / Postgraduate Diploma. The minimum grade required is 61% if the passing grade is 35%; 64% if the passing grade is 40%; 70% if the passing grade is 50%
• Doctorate (PhD): Students must have M.Phil / M.Tech / MEngi. / MSc (Eng) / Doctor of Philosophy or Engineering. The minimum grade required is 68% if passing grade is 35%; 70% if passing grade is 40%; 75% if passing grade is 50%
• Also, students must meet the English language requirements as specified by the University of Ottawa

International students seeking admission to Ottawa University are required to meet the course-specific and general admission requirements. International students are advised to check for the course-specific requirements before applying. Here we provide the general admission requirements for international students:

• Successful completion of a secondary school Diploma or certificate
• A U.S. – equivalent GPA of 2.5 or above
• A U.S. – equivalent GPA of 3.0 or above
• Successful completion of bachelor’s degree
• An affidavit of financial support showing the ability to pay for one full year
• Essay describing your ‘Sense of Purpose at Ottawa University’
• English language proficiency

The University of Ottawa accepts Indian students based on the submission of the following documents:

·       Transcripts of the past 3 years of secondary studies

·       Transcripts of results from the first semester of the student’s final year

·       All postsecondary transcripts

·       Proof of Diploma

·       CBSE senior English subject requirement with a grade of 75%

·       Have completed the prerequisites for the programme of the student’s choice
