Candidates must know that they need to follow the guidelines and instructions on the day of the OUAT Exam as mentioned below:

  • The exam will be conducted in a single sitting.  The candidate must appear for the entrance examination as per the scheduled time and date mentioned in his/her admit card. 

  • The candidates are to report 2 hours before the examination. Detailed instructions will be provided on the admit card.  

  • No Mobile phone headphones/any other electronic gadgets are allowed during the examination. Candidates, who are found to use unfair means shall be debarred from the examination.

The entrance examination will be held in CBT mode for the Master’s programme and the entrance examination for a doctoral programme (Ph. D) will be held in offline mode in the third week of July 2025, tentatively. The exam is conducted for Veterinary Science candidates in Bhubaneswar only. The OUAT Admit Card can be downloaded from the OUAT website) and the candidate must bring the Admit card with original identity proof to the Examination Centre for verification. A candidate who is appearing for the exam this year should know that the difficulty level in general is moderate to tough. Also, candidates need to score well in classes 10 and 12 so, that when they appear for the OUAT Exam 25 per cent of their class 10 and 12 scores will be added too.

Candidates who want to appear for OUAT Exams must qualify their classes 10 and 12 with Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Physics subjects. Also, the aggregate passing marks in classes 10 and 12 should be 50 per cent for general category canddiates and 40 per cent for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

The OUAT exam questions majorly comes from the NCERT. The OUAT Exam syllabus 2025 include subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology courses from the Classes 10+2 syllabus, with questions based on the syllabus.

Duration: 2 hours

Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

Sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology

The OUAT Exam Syllabus included of four parts: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mental Aptitude and Mathematics. There are topics from all the four subjects that are asked from the OUAT Syllabus.

The Kashmiri Migrants/ Kashmiri Pandit (Non-Migrants) / Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) living in Kashmir Valley are not required to appear in the OUAT PG Entrance Examination - 2024. Interested candidates must apply online, without which admission is not allowed. The selection of these candidates will be made from a separate merit list prepared based on the highest OGPA/percentage of marks in Under Graduate programme. Without OGPA/marks of qualifying examinations, the application will be invalid. In case of a tie, it will be resolved considering the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination followed by Class 12 science

The ICAR/Departmental candidates sponsored by State Govt./Foreign Candidates nominated by ICAR/ICCR/any other statutory bodies of Govt. of India are exempted from appearing in the Entrance Examination. All other categories of candidates including ICAR Fellowship holders are required to appear at the Entrance Examination.
