It is a Diploma course offered by the institutes that are recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and which are autonomous and not affiliated to any university. However, accreditation by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) makes an institutes PGDM course equivalent to an MBA. An autonomous institute does not have to follow university standards, so it is free to change its curriculum according to industry standards and change in the business environment. The course will prepare you for a senior level position in a company. Famous PGDM institutes in India are:

No, there is always a good reason behind everything. PGDM is also a good option. Just try to choose the best specialisation which will help you get a good job profile and provides you with the opportunity to work abroad. Good luck.

Hello Srividhya,
Having work experience and doing PGDM is good. I intend to communicate that there is no guaranteed package for any student in PSGIM. It is also applicable for MBA. It all depends on how we perform during the 2 years of our course duration. If you perform excellent and maintain good skills that the industry expects you are guaranteed to get a better package. Also, I would like to make you understand that corporates do not see any difference between PGDM and MBA. They see both courses equal and recruit only based on skills that we possess. Also, there are no scholarships available for PGDM.

The average package for the freshers would depend upon the skills and abilities you pursue. Moreover, it also depends upon the college where you study in. The campus recruitments that they bring should be appropriate and for that you need to check out the previous year's placements.

So PGDM is a 2 years course, and basically you can surely go for Ph.D. But be careful that you are allowed to go for Ph.D. when you do your PGDM from an AICTE recognised college. The best option for is to get a PGDM course from Iims (Indian Institute of Management). You are only eligible to do Ph.D. when you come with your PGDM Course from an AICTE approved college. The colleges/Institutions providing this PGDM Course must be a member of Association of Indian universities. In your case you have already complete
