After completing Ph.D, you can become a professor. You can even become a principal of a college.

IIT's are prestigious but when it comes to PhD, you should probably opt for a course abroad if you have decent marks in your undergraduate and graduate programs, as the job opportunities almost triple.
IITs are mainly good for pursuing engineering, that's what I believe

To do your Ph.D., you have to contact universities yourself, the research department and their respective heads. You have to find out which universities offer research work in your area. Some of the well known universities in France for CS and IT include Paris-Saclay University, ESIEE
