This is a classic Shakespearean dilemma. Rourkela as well as Warangal, both have a long history of academic excellence. Practically there is nothing much to differentiate between the two. Hence my advice would be to select the one with better convenience.

To get admission in NIT Rourkela, For General candidates to qualify for admissions to NITs/IIITs/GFTIs, they should have secured at least 75% marks in class 12th exam or be in the top 20 percentile in class 12th exam conducted by the respective boards. For SC/ST candidates, the eligibility criteria is 65% marks in class 12th.The Home State: Rank - 16679 And Other State: Rank - 12898 for mechanical engineering.

All the NITs are equally good and holds a good placement record as well. NIT Rourkela is good enough for Computer Science and engineering. It has a good infrastructure, and good faculty members as well. It holds a good placement record. The companies like Dell, Microsoft, SAP Labs, Direct, PwC India, Goldman Sachs, HP, NCR Corporation, Oracle Apps, Cloud, Financial Services, Samsung, Ericsson So placement wise its good that's the only thing that matters in the end and academics wise it completely depends on you. The average package is around 7-8 LPA. The highest package is around 11-12 LPA which can also increase more. In NIT Allaha

Follow the order: First preference must be given to KIIT, and ASMB and RIMS Rourkela after it. However, it is based on the placement structure in the institutions.
