Applicants are eligible to apply for SAT exam multiple times irrespective of their current standing. Students can appear for SAT another time or multiple times, there is no bar. Students must have a valid reason to appear multiple times for the SAT. The cost of SATs are high and not feasible.

No, SAT doesn not usually demand class 12th scores or grades from its prospective applicants to deem them eligible for appearing for the SAT exam. The students may have to fill in their level of understanding of certain subjects and co-curricular activities and they will not be required to submit score related details even while registering. But it is definitely better to appear for SAT after class XII because of the level of knowledge.

Yes, 12 year olds can also sit for SAT exam, they are eligible for the exam, but they will not be able to register for SAT on their own. A guardian or parent will have to apply for SAT exam on behalf of the 12 year old. Thus, parent or guardian will have to take guarantee and register on behalf of their child for the SAT exam. Once the child turns 13, he/she can apply on their own if they still wish to appear for the SAT exam. Its best to prepre for SAT exam and then sit for the exam.

You are nothing without it. They wont let you in. You need a valid passport. Security is super strict. A school ID is risky. Name on the ID proof must match the ticket. No ID, no test!

Yes, more or less the rescheduling part is now disabled and cancellation is the only option. In order to reschedule a SAT exam date, applicants will have to cancel the existing SAT registration for which they will be charged based on the timeline of cancellation either USD 29 or USD 39. After the registered SAT date has been cancelled, applicants have to re-register for a new SAT exam date.

Note: Previously there was an option for rescheduling the SAT exam with an additional charge, but now applicants have to cancel the registration and pay the fee, then register again and again pay the fee.

Thus, it is recommended that applicants

Changing your SAT 2026 date requires paying a fee. If you want to cancel your current test, pay a cancellation fee. Then register and pay for new date separately. Students with fee waivers can make these changes for free.

While registering for SAT exam students are permitted to choose only one SAT exam date. There is no option of making multiple selections for SAT exam dates on College Board. Students ideally should prepare themselves and ensure that they apply for the SAT date only when they are able to sit for the exam and score as per their expectations. Thus, making changes to SAT dates is possible but multiple selections are not. Applicants should thus, make up their minds before hand and then make the final choice because altering choices can be costly for them at a later stage.
