Dear Aayan, First and foremost, if you didn't study Chemistry in your 12th grade, it's highly likely that you didn't study Physics and math either, and these subjects are crucial for getting into an engineering programme. There aren't many differences in the eligibility requirements, but let's start with India to address your question: Except for bioengineering and agricultural engineering, every government college in India will need you to take Chemistry in order to enroll in an engineering programme. I feel that it is very difficult and requires a great deal of passion to get into IIT, and I think it's better to take IIT courses outside of IIT so you can gain some knowledge as well. There are some books by RD Sharma in which he provided a brief explanation about mathematics and concepts. So good luck and keep moving forward.
