The difference between both these courses is paper thin. If you did M.Sc. In food Science technology then you will get the work which is research oriented. On the contrary, if you did M.Sc. In food tech and quality assurance then (as its name suggest) you will get job which has supervisor type role. Your work will be checking the quality of food devolved in India.

Most institutes offering the course admit students based on their performance in a relevant entrance test followed by a round of Personal Interview. Admission process generally varies across colleges.
Candidates are selected based on performance in the Research Eligibility Test (RET) and interview conducted by a given institute.
Candidates who have already qualified UGC/ CSIR (JRF)/ NET/ GATE/ M.Phil./ M.Tech., or equivalent examinations, are not required to appear for the Ph.D. entrance test, but need to appear for the round of Personal Interview.

NDA exam can provides you the opportunities twice in an year. If you are unmarried and age is between 15-18 years, than you can appear in this exam. The NDA conducts single exam for its all three wings I. e Air force, Naval and Army. You can apply for its all three wings according to yours preferences.
