Before the exam:
The meticulous study is the correct approach that can help you resolve all your doubts and attain lucid perception of various theories, concepts and their uses regarding the syllabus. Try to solve as many as mock test papers & previous years papers, especially 1-2 months before the exam, as it will give you a clear idea about the difficulty level, pattern, & how to allot the minimum time to solve a particular type of questions. This will help you know yourself, your capabilities & the field in which you are lagging. You should give at least 6 to 7 hours daily to your studies. The best way to prepare for the exam is preparing a time table and then sticking to it throughout the preparation tenure. Refer to standard books only, and prepare hand-written notes. During Exam:Always remember Time is the key to success. Learn to manage your time. Try to solve a question with maximum speed, allotting a very little time to it. Don't spend too much time on a particular question, it's better to move on and solve other questions. Try to attempt section first which you can do very fast. Don't try to attempt the questions which you don't know or don't know to solve. Keep negative marking policy always in your mind.

One should choose Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects in 12th. After you are done with 12th grade and you have gotten good grades, you need to focus on a good Bachelors degree from a recognised university. One could choose a course in Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology, or Aerospace Engineering. To be able to get a post graduation degree and a doctorate, you need to do well in your undergraduate degree. Post graduation and doctorate will basically be specialisation in your stream. After you are done with graduation, you can sit for the exam, which is held by NASA for the recruitment of scientists and astronauts. Or in order to join ISRO, one needs to clear the Joint Entrance Exam which is held by the IITs. And in order to be a mission specialist, you will need 3 years of related and responsible experience. There are a couple of qualities and skills that a person needs to possess in order to make sure he can think of becoming an astronaut, some of them are-
1) You need to be physically fit, there are examinations, mentally strong and should have great stamina. You should qualify the criterion of height, a particular level of height is required for people to become an astronaut.
2) You should possess great mathematical skills, and I am not talking about addition, multiplication etc. You should have good communication skills, you must be good at English because there are very high chances that people you will be working with will not even be from your own country.
3) You should have a good academic career and team spirit because all the space missions are done in teams, and you should be able to work under high pressure and in the cramped environment.

No, you can't. The basic rule of NET exam is that the candidates can only apply for the exam with their masters' subject. According to your subject, you can apply for CSIR NET Earth Sciences in the place of UGC NET. It would be a better option for you. It is a national-level exam which is conducted for the Science stream students who want to become a researcher or a lecturer. To appear for the exam, you should have minimum 55% aggregate marks in your masters. If you want to appear for junior research fellowship, then your age must be less than or equal to 28 years. For assistant professor, this age limit is not applicable.
