This is depending on University, if you look syllabus of ISI Kolkata, you can find that syllabus is designed to test statistical formulas and basic level of stored procedure, data structures, algorithm and programming. Whole course is dedicated to statistical analysis only. In another University, you can find similar syllabus but in second and final year you can find lots of high level programming like. NET Java and c+. The reason is behind lack of availability of qualified professors. Nowadays, statistics has better opportunity than another traditional and professional courses. Yes, you can pursue M.Sc in psychology after your B.Tech or B.E degree. However, it is important for you to check the eligibility of all the universities and colleges you wish to apply. There may be entrance exams at some of them.

The eligibility is 50 percent marks in B.Sc(Pass or Hons.) exam. of PU or other exam recognized by PU as equivalent thereto with Botany as one of the elective subjects.
