SRMIST Kattankulathur has collaborated with over 100 colleges, universities, industries, and others over the years. For this, SRM University has signed MoUs with several organisations and companies. Some of them are Toyo University (Japan), University of Nevada (Las Vegas, USA), Free University of Berlin (Germany), Sankara Nethralaya, BITS Pilani Goa, Banaras Hindu University (Varanasi), and others.

All these collaborations are focussed at research, dual-degree programmes and providing international internship opportunities for its students.

All the regular and distance education courses are approved by UGC (University Grants Commission) and AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). .

SRM Institute of Science and Technology Kattankulathur is a sprawling 250-acre campus that offers a wide range of facilities to its students, including state-of-the-art laboratories, laboratory, Wi-Fi, a knowledge centre, libraries, a 4,000-capacity AC auditorium, more than 100 online smart classrooms, boys and girls hostels with multiple premium facilities, and much more.

The campus is also green, clean, and energy-efficient. Solar energy is one of the major sources of power for the campus, and the energy generated from solar panels is used to power solar steam cooking and solar water heaters installed in the hostels.
