This scholarship aims to encourage toppers in the qualifying examination or JEE exam to seek admission in the first year of BTech. It also encourages outstanding sports personalities to seek admission in Diploma/ UG/ PG programmes offered at SRM IST. 

At the postgraduate level, the institute provides a two-year MPT curriculum with nine specialisations. The course spans two years and consists of four semesters. Admission to this course is based on the SRMJEEH - PG exam administered by the deemed-to-be University, and students must have received a valid score in their most recent qualifying exam. i.e. their undergraduate degree.

Candidates should have passed the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) Degree or equivalent (4 years + 6 months of compulsory internship on or before 31st May of that academic year) from a UGC recognised University in India (on campus full time program).
