A CRS score above 480 is considered competitive as of 2025. Note that, the minimum cut-off changes almost every draw. In some draws, the cut-off may be below 480, while in others it could be higher depending on the pool's competitiveness.

The CRS is a points based system used by Canadian Government to rank Express Entry candidates for offering permanent residency. In short, your CRS score determines your place in the pool. The higher score means higher chance of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for PR.

The structure for an SOP for MS in UK is the same as a normal SOP. It goes like this:

  • Introduction
  • Academic background
  • Work experience (if any)
  • Why MS and why now?
  • Post programme goals (career goals)
  • Why this particular University?
  • Why UK?
  • Extracurricular activities/ community service (optional)
  • Conclusion

Yes, if you have work experience, you must mention it in your SOP. It will give an idea about your profile to the admissions committee and highlight your knowledge, skills, and other strengths.
