The graduates of the University of Bologna are spread in various sectors.

  • 63.6% of graduates work in the private sector
  • 32% in the public sector
  • 4.3% in the non-profit sector

The services sector has 79.4% of employed graduates, while 18.8% work in industry and 1.2% in agriculture. 

17.8% of graduates continued in their job that they started before graduation, 16.9% changed jobs and 65.3% started working after graduation. 22.4% of these students are in employment and have a permanent contract, while 26.4% have a fixed-term contract and 7.4% are self-employed.

The overall placement rate of the University of Bologna is over 80% which is even higher than the national average, which was 75.7% in 2022. Many graduates secure employment within a few months of their graduation from this university. Other than job placements, around 58.5% of graduates take part in internships recognised by their degree program.

To be admitted to the degree program, international students must show that they have knowledge of the English language. The approximate acceptance rate of University of Bologna ranges between 65% to 74%. This range varies as the eligibility criteria for each department and programme a student is applying to are different.  

Though the acceptance rate seems a bit competitive, it depends upon how well an individual meets the demands of the university as well as a specified program. While some programs have a quality number of seats, the other programs who hold limited seats make it hard for students in the selection process.
