Yes, international applicants need to go through an interview to be able to get into Purdue MEM. It is one of the most important steps of the Purdue University admission process. So, what all is asked in this interview, it is given below -

  • You will be asked about your previous work experience and what you want to achieve in terms of career
  • How will the Purdue MEM programme help you and align with your goals in life
  • Assessment of leadership skills will be done
  • The applicants should not worry because the interview is very relaxed and conversational.

Hi.

Yes — under PTE Academic, you are allowed to bring certain “comfort aids” into the exam room.

  • Acceptable comfort aids include things like tissues; cough drops (unwrapped); a pillow (for neck/back or injured limbs); a sweater, sweatshirt, or blazer; eyeglasses or hearing aids; neck-braces or collars (if medically needed); and insulin pumps (if worn).

  • You must provide your own comfort aids.

  • On the test-day, any comfort aids you bring will need to be shown to and inspected by the Test Administrator before you enter the test room.

Hi.

  • SEAS offers a Master's (S.M.) in Data Science, jointly run by its Computer Science and Statistics faculties.

  • For doctoral students enrolled in other fields, SEAS (via the Harvard Kenneth C. Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, or GSAS) allows a Secondary Field in Data Science — essentially a “minor/concentration” alongside your main PhD subject.

Hi.

  • For a full-time graduate degree via Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) in Data Science (or Computational Science & Engineering), admissions are offered for the Fall term only.

  • According to the GSAS admission guidelines: “All degree candidates are admitted for full-time study beginning in the fall term.”

  • So spring or summer start is not an option for entering a standard degree programme under Harvard GSAS / SEAS Data Science.

Hi.

It depends on which Data Science programme you mean — but for the main Data Science/related master's under Harvard GSAS, admission/entry is only for Fall.

  • For the standard master's programmes (e.g. Data Science or Computational Science) under Harvard's engineering-applied schools via GSAS, the application portal is open each year and admissions are for Fall term only.

  • You cannot apply for spring or summer entry for those master's Data Science/CSE programmes at Harvard.

  • However: at Harvard there is also a “Secondary Field in Data Science” option (for doctoral students in GSAS) — and that secondary-field application can be submit

While Purdue University does not specifically release acceptance rates for MEM courses, the overall acceptance rate of this university generally revolves around 50% for most of years.

This is surely quite a competitive acceptance and to get in, international students are required to meet the Purdue MEM admission eligibility. This includes a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, academic transcripts and English language proficiency.

It can definitely be worth it to pursue the Purdue MEM. This programme focuses on the technical skills of a student as well as the management skills. The tuition fee for the first 21 months is INR 20.23 L. And the average salary international grads can land is USD 117,000 (INR 1.05 Cr) after MEM. So, ROI wise, it is great.

The Purdue placement rate also stands at 92% for international students which is really good. After MEM from Purdue, international students can go for roles like Engineer Manager, Technical Program Manager and more.

(USD 1 = INR 89.64)
