Study Abroad

While the Harvard University do not offer in person tours or individual information sessions,  students who are interested to know more about the university can view virtual information sessions available on university website. Also, if student are interested in a self guided tour,  there are some options available such as online tours, private tours, etc. 

The graduate application for Fall 2026 were available at GSAS in Fall 2025. Application deadline for 2026 admission have been closed on Dec 1,  2025 and the decision for the same will be declared in mid-Feb. 

The university do not offer rolling admissions for any course under GSAS or SEAS. New students are admitted only once in a year to begin their studies i.e.,  in the Fall. Application for 2027 intake will be out in Fall and the deadline for same is Dec 1, 2026.

Master of Science (S.M.) degree is coursework (non-research) based degree. It includes no thesis,  foreign language or general examination. Admission into terminal S.M. is offered in 2 areas: Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) and Data Science. S.M. in Data Science is a one and a half year (3 terms) degree. 

Students are allowed to apply to a SEAS master's programme in Data Science if they already have a master's degree from another institution in a different subject area. But before applying for the course, students must check all the eligibility criteria required to enter the program. 

All the international students are required to submit transcripts in English language or have certified English translation. International transcript include- courses, seminars, exams, grades, etc., which should be totally in English language. 

No,  PhD is not available for Data Science course. The Data Science course is only offered as Master of Science (S.M.) under School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. PhD degree under SEAS is available for Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, etc. 

As per the Graduate Employability rankings and Survey by Emerging, HU Berlin ranks at #68 worldwide. It also ranks at #4 in Germany. The Global Employability University Ranking and Survey mentions the Top 250 universities worldwide in terms of employabbility skills and the competencies of the graduates. As per Emerging, this ranking is based on the perspective of international employers only.
