B. Tech courses are, the candidate must have completed Class 12th with minimum 60% marks in the relevant subjects in aggregate. The selection of those applied for the course will be done on merit basis and online counseling process after that. Students with the highest scores are shortlisted for admission to TNAU.

A grade of 50-59% is lower second class honours, a 2.2 degree, known colloquially as a Desmond, after Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Tutu, get it? And then 40-49% is a third class honours, and under 40% is a fail.
