Your thought is better, as after the B.Tech in agriculture engineering. You can go for lot of jobs in various agriculture departments like AO. etc., And, Mechanical Engineering is also a very good Branch in engineering.

I would suggest you pursue B.Tech and that too in CSE as opportunities are great in this field and are expected to rise more in coming years. This field is not loner limited with IT industry.
