Board marks are nothing to do with VIT admission but you have to eligible for it atleast 60% in physics, chemistry, maths in intermediate. You have to give VITEEE exam to take admission in VIT. You may get ECE but in second or third category but you have to pay more for that. Let me explain you the admission system here. Rank in VIT to get admission should be 90,000, so you can get admission in VIT from the 6th category as well. There are various categories as well. With each category admission, fees go high. First category closed till 15,000 rank, and you can get CSE till 9000 rank and IT till 11000 rank, but there are 2nd category as well, if you want CSE, but you have to pay more for that. To secure a seat you need to have a rank below 5000. Further, the ranks are admitted according to the financial attraction of the course and the time of admission.

First of all, you should check of all the options that you have in your hand. If you are devoted towards IIT and you think you can do it, then you should take a drop but remember drop is really frustrating so you should have enough to manage with it. Another factor affecting it is that it has to based on your this year marks. If you score around the cut-off so you can try but you have to prepare yourself to get around 200 marks. If you think that you can get then only you should take a drop otherwise you can go for good private colleges by which you will be saving around 3 lakhs which you are going to spend in Kota and most
