TANCET Counselling

TANCET counselling is conducted by GCT Coimbatore. DTE, Tamil Nadu has allocatted the responsibility for TANCET counselling to GCT, Coimbatore. Candidates will have to participate in the centralised counselling process for TANCET based admissions.

TANCET ranks are allotted based on the marks of the candidates. All candidates with a TANCET Bscore who get their documents verified before the counselling process will be placed in the TANCET rank list. the highest scorer in the TANCET exam who will get the documents verified will get first rank in the TANCET rank list.

TANCET counselling process helps filling the MBA and MCA seats available in the participating institutes based on the TANCET scores. TANCET counselling process includes release of rank list, followed by choice filling, and seat allotment. Candidates who are allotted a seat have to pay the admission fee as per their allotment order.

TANCET supplementary counselling helps filling the seats that remain vacant after the general counselling process. DTE Tamil Nadu publishes the report of vacant seats after the general counselling process is over.

TANCET counselling is conducted in online mode. Candidates have to participate in the TANCET counselling for admissions based on the TANCET scores. The counselling process starts after the scorecard download process begins.

KIT Coimbatore is affiliated with Anna University, and it accepts TANCET MBA scores for MBA admissions. When candidates secure valid scores in the entrance exam, they will go through the counselling process. At the time of selecting the college preference, candidates can choose the name of the institution or a counselling code, 2750. 

Reserved category candidates (SC, ST, SCA, MBC, DNC, BC, and BCM) are eligible for a relaxation in the qualifying examination marks. They must have obtained at least 45% aggregate in their bachelor's degree program, compared to 50% for general category candidates. Valid community certificates must be submitted during counselling registration.

There is no upper or lower age limit prescribed for TANCET counselling. Age is not considered a factor during the admission process. Similarly, while work experience may be valued by individual institutions during admission or placement, it does not influence eligibility for TANCET counselling itself.

No, appearing for the TANCET 2025 exam is mandatory for admission through the regular counselling process conducted by Anna University. Without a valid TANCET score, a candidate cannot participate in the centralized counselling. However, individual institutions may offer management quota seats which have separate eligibility norms.
