TANCET participating colleges do not release a cutoff score or a cutoff rank. Participating colleges prepare a cutoff score list or last rank list to select candidates for admission. However, this list is not released before the admission process is closed. Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai, releases the TANCET cutoff rank as well as the TANCET cutoff marks for all participating colleges in a consolidated list. The cutoff report for admission based on TANCET is released with the counselling details of the upcoming session. You may eligible to get admission there based on your percentile. However, I'm recommending you other colleges :
1. Anna University, Chennai
2. PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore
3. Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai
4. SSN College of Engineering, Chennai

1. PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, TANCET Cutoff - 71 percentile.
2. Dr. GR Damodaran College Of Science - [GRDCS], Coimbatore TANCET Cutoff - 68 percentile.

Candidates are allotted a seat during TANCET counselling based on the following reservation criteria:

  • Open Competition (OC): 31%
  • Backward Classes (BC): 26.5%
  • Most Backward Class and Identified Communities: 20%
  • SC (Arunthathiyar): 3%
  • Scheduled Caste: 15%
  • Scheduled Tribes: 1%
  • Backward Class Muslims: 3.5%

The reservation criteria mentioned above has been followed during the Tamil Nadu MBA admission in the past sessions. DTE, Chennai, will release the updated reservation criteria along with the TANCET counselling brochure.

TANCET rank is allotted based on the percentile score of the candidate. In case two candidates have a similar percentile score, he/she will be allotted a rank as per the following criteria. Firstly, candidates having a higher average percentage of marks in the first semester to N-1 semesters in the qualifying degree exam are ranked higher. Here N indicates the total number of semesters in the qualifying exam. In case the tie persist, the older candidate as per the date of birth in the SSLC Certificate will get the preference in the rank allotment.
